COROVAVIRUS COVID-19 - Update 24th March 2020
Following the up to date government advice we can confirm that Sunderlands will be continuing to operate the Business on a limited basis, in accordance with the following guidelines in place:
RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL AGENCY
We will continue to service our existing clients and continue to follow through current sales and lettings. All correspondence will be via telephone/mobile and email services. Our office doors will remain locked for the next three weeks and until such time that government advice dictates otherwise.
Payments of rent etc must be made online where possible. ANY APPOINTMENTS MUST BE CONFIRMED FIRST BY TELEPHONE.
To be clear most of our business operates via telephone, email and website connections and will CONTINUE to do so. In accordance with the latest government advice we will obviously not be able to carry out viewings or market appraisals, however if you wish to speak with one of our agents, register your interest in a property or you have a property to sell then please contact us via the telephone numbers provided or email us your enquiry.
TALGARTH LIVESTOCK MARKET – NO MARKET THIS WEEK
After consideration of the latest government advice we have taken the decision not to hold a livestock market THIS WEEK (FRIDAY 27TH MARCH 2020).
We have been advised that we CAN operate a market under very strict trading circumstances, where only buyers are present. We have taken the decision not to hold a market this week UNTIL we can fully establish a SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT for our staff, vendors and buyers and until such time where we can establish a proper and realistic trading environment to produce the best price for your stock.
We have spoken to our regular buyers and for whatever reason the sheep trade has totally plummeted in the last few days and it would seem sensible to stop and take stock of the potential trading conditions going forward and give vendors and buyers time to consider and make the necessary adjustments to operate in these unprecedented times.
We see no point in flooding the market with sheep, further exacerbating a depression to the trade when buyers are struggling to source outlets. The last thing we want is a return to the trading conditions we endured 19 years ago. Supply must be regulated.
We are in constant contact with meat firms up and down the country and we will update you regularly as to when we will able to establish a safe, practical system that ensures you get a competitive price for your stock. We envisage this being next week. Please bear with us for the time being and DO NOT PANIC.
In the meantime, please adhere to all government and medical advice and STAY SAFE.
Our rural professional department will continue to operate albeit on a limited basis. Most of our agents will be working from home and contactable via email and their mobiles.
Thank you for your cooperation - The Partners of Sunderlands.
