Description

A charming detached period cottage found in a tucked away rural and private location and surrounded by beautiful countryside just on the edge of a popular West Herefordshire Village.

Situation

Ross Cottage is located on the edge of the village of Almeley. The area is well known for its naturally beautiful surrounding countryside. The village of Almeley has facilities including a primary school, a public house incorporating a village store, a church, a village hall and a sports ground. Further facilities are located approx 2 miles away in the picturesque village of Eardisley, which is a very attractive village forming part of the "Black and White Trail". The village has a general store, post office, primary school, 2 public houses, church, village hall and hairdressers. The market town of Kington is found 7 miles away with a good range of services and facilities including a medical centre, independent shops, a secondary school, hotels, cafes and restaurants etc.

The Accommodation

Ross Cottage is entered via the front door into a hallway where there is a sitting room on the left hand side with a window to the front, wood-burner and exposed beams. Next to the hall is a dining room with a wood-burner, window to the front and further exposed beams.
The kitchen offers a good range of fitted units with ample work surfaces, windows to the rear and side aspects, stainless steel drainer sink, plumbing for a washing machine and a useful larder/cupboard. A door leads through to the rear hall with a cupboard with double doors and a bathroom with a bath, an electric shower over, a close coupled w.c., wash hand basin and a window to the side. The rear door leads out to the porch which also has plumbing for a washing machine and power points, this being a very useful storage area.
A staircase leads up to the first floor where there is a double bedroom with a small window to the side and window to the front. This bedroom leads through to a further bedroom of double proportion with window to the front. Both bedrooms offer character with exposed beams.

Outside

The property is approached from the single track lane into a generous parking and turning area. Immediately to one side is a large garage measuring approximately (5.75m x 4.75m) (18'10 x 15'7) of timber and tile construction with power, lighting and excellent loft storage area. The gardens are quite extensive with a level lawn and Pergola area found to the north of the property, where the ground extends to the tops of the banks. It is also noted that there is a further area of ground over the stream, also owned by the property.
